Leopold Stokowski became the Permanent Conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1912, and he thoroughly trained the ensemble until his retirement in 1940, which marked the golden age of the orchestra. Stokowski and the Philadelphia Orchestra recorded many LPs. Among the vast amount of recordings made by Stokowski and the Philadelphia Orchestra, there remain some valuable works that had never been recorded before. The Philadelphia Rarities" is a collection of these works on one disc!
