Description:
Azarashvili was born in Georgia (formerly Georgia) in 1936. He was one of the most important figures in the development of "Soviet contemporary music" in the postwar period, and his works have recently been featured in concerts, attracting much attention. Although his style is modern in sound, it is never avant-garde, and he is known for his unique and nostalgic compositions that incorporate Caucasian and Georgian folk songs, always creating a world of his own. This album contains all of Azarashvili's works for cello and piano. You can listen to colorful works composed over a period of more than 40 years, including "Cello Sonata No. 1," conceived as a student, "Sentimental Tango," written for a film, and "Five Preludes," interspersed with striking phrases.
