The 18th century hand carved fragment base is originally from Tuscany. The polished agate coral coordinates with the 18th century fragment in texture and color. Agate coral is Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when coral is gradually replaced with agate. 

The Italian artifact, agate coral, crystal and agate slab are put together in a sculptural form - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time.
