This early 60s color block skirt suit is quite cleverly designed. The a-line skirt is solid yellow, while the collared top uses vertical insets of yellow instead of side seams. A yellow sash belt pulls the whole thing together.

FABRIC/COLORS: Cream and sunny yellow. The fabric has a lineny feel, but the tag says 100% rayon. The skirt is about 3/4 lined in a light yellow cottony fabric
TAGS: Carole King. There is also an ILGWU/AFL-CIO union tag that was used from 1955 to 1963.
CLOSURES: The top closes with five self-fabric covered buttons plus a small snap at the neck. The skirt closes in back with a nylon zipper and single plastic button at the waist.
CONDITION: Based on the feel and look, I don't think this has ever been worn; i.e., New Old Stock without tags. The one thing to mention is that the skirt is unhemmed. I see a subtly deeper yellow shade about 2" above the bias tape - see closeup - and I suspect that may have been where the original hem was, although there is no obvious crease or fold there. I am leaving it as-found so the new owner can choose their skirt length. No other issues noted.
