Hand woven Kanchivaram silk sarees originate in a town called Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu. Home to the weavers whose craft has become world famous, Kancheepuram is also known for its ancient temples. 

In South India these silk sarees are considered auspicious and are worn at celebrations. A friend of ours gave us some of her Kanchivaram sarees that she is not wearing anymore. The material was so gorgeous and the weave so brilliant that we decided to come up with a whole line of clothing made with these sarees!

This simple mustard silk kurta is elegant and classy. An additional design element of fabric covered buttons adds a special touch to the kurta. Dress it up with a scarf or dupatta or wear it just by itself over white or black leggings to make it 'simply elegant"!   This kurta is US Size 4-6.
