Description:
Jazz is Dead, the third installment of the second series! Jazz is Dead" has become the most popular label in the L.A. underground and jazz scene with its first series of 10 releases, which were successfully completed even in the midst of the Corona disaster, when the label was unable to hold its original live events. The third installment of the second series is now available. Following the first compilation and the second Gene Kern, the third volume is the next breakout star of the rapidly expanding LA jazz scene, Catalyst! Catalyst is a jazz collective formed in 2014 that includes drummer Greg Paul, a frequent participant on the first series of Jazz Is Dead. While the individual members work behind the scenes with top musicians such as Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Anderson Paak, and Beyoncé, Catalyst also performs a pop-up concert series featuring LA's most talented rappers and singers. He has also hosted #Inglewoodstock, a pop-up concert series featuring LA's most talented rappers and singers, and has served as the eye of the storm in the scene. The group, which describes its musical style as "contemporary instrumental," has finally collided with another catalyst in the LA jazz scene, "Jazz is Dead"! The Midnight Hour (Adrian Young & Ali Shaheed Muhammad) have collaborated with Roy Ayers, Gary Bartz, and other masters of jazz funk and rare groove, but this is the first time they have collaborated with a new generation. In this album, the strength of Catalyst's diversity is more than demonstrated, as all the members of Kat (Kat) are composers, while retaining the essence of Adrian's signature bitter psychedelic sound and retro soul in many places. The transition from song to song is seamless, yet each emits a different tone and mood, and the variety and depth of the album, which departs from its foundational jazz and travels through hip-hop, neo-soul, and dance music, is overwhelming compared to previous works. The music is so great that it makes you feel as if you have touched the core of black music, like the works of Soulquarians, Moody Man, and Thundercat, and you can feel the further evolution of "JAZZ IS DEAD". A masterpiece that sums up the excitement of the current L.A. jazz scene, and at the same time will be the beginning of a new page!
