The Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra is a musical heir to the Strauss family, founded in 1844 by Johann Strauss II. Strauss II in 1844. The orchestra was succeeded by his brother Eduard I and disbanded in 1901 after its second tour of the United States. After two world wars, the orchestra was rebuilt in 1966 by Eduard II, grandson of Eduard I. In 1967, the orchestra was renamed the Vienna Philharmonic, and in 1969, it was renamed the Vienna Philharmonic. After that, Willy Boskovsky, who had been concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, was brought in as conductor, and the orchestra quickly gained international fame, continuing to attract audiences around the world with its traditional Viennese waltz. This video is a live performance of a commemorative concert held in 2016, the 50th anniversary of the reconstruction, in the "Golden Hall" of the Musikverein in Vienna, which is also home to the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert.
