In collaboration with Kel-c Jules, a Secwépemc artist and daughter of a residential school survivor, Islamic Relief Canada is selling Orange Shirts for the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
“In this design, the bottom left are jingles, which are traditional regalia of the healing dress. Inside is a Loon and stars, as traditionally we believe that when someone passes, they go on to an animal. This loon represents my uncle Dwayne so it's very personal to me." - Kel-c Jules, Artist
All proceeds from orange shirt sales will be donated to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, an organization dedicated to providing physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual growth, development, and healing through culturally-based values and guiding principles for Survivors, Families, and Communities.
