Andruw Arthur, who has performed with major British period instrument orchestras and choirs as a soloist, continuo bassist, and conductor, conducts and plays harpsichord with the Hanover Band on this second collection of J.S. Bach harpsichord concertos! The previous two recordings (PSIGCD710 and SIGCD710) were selected as "Record Geijutsu" semi-selected recordings and attracted a lot of attention. This time, "Brandenburg Concerto No. 5" and "Harpsichord Concerto in F major, BWV 1057," an arrangement of "Brandenburg Concerto No. 4," are also included. The soloist is not the only one who stands out, but is part of the whole ensemble, and all instruments contribute to the music in an equal and complementary way. The performance by Andru Arthur and the Hanover Band is a perfect example of this.Founded in 1980 by Caroline Brown, the Hanover Band is one of England's leading ancient instrument orchestras. Successive conductors include Roy Goodman, who is also known as a baroque violin virtuoso, and Charles Mackerras. Tokyo M-Plus
