The 61st Taiga drama "Kamakura-dono no 13-nin" is written by hit maker Mitani Koki. The protagonist is Hojo Yoshitoki, the second regent of the Kamakura shogunate, a man who learned everything he could from Minamoto no Yoritomo and made the samurai world a rock solid. How did a young man who had nothing to do with ambition rise to the top of the samurai world? The film depicts the power game that unfolds in the new capital, Kamakura. The music is by Evan Cole, an American-born, Japan-based composer who has composed numerous film scores, including "Violet Evergarden. The theme music will be performed by the NHK Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Tatsuya Shimono, and will dramatically depict the protagonists as they rode through the late Heian and early Kamakura periods. Also included are "Taiga Kiko I-IV" by Paul Gilbert, Francesco Tristano, Masami Takeuchi, and tea, with a variety of artists participating on the music side as well.
