Description:
This is a collection of works by Pärt, an Estonian composer who is popular all over the world. In his early years of creation, Pärt wrote in the neoclassical style of "B-A-C-H thematic collage," but from the late 1970s, when "Ode to Britten" was composed, he gradually changed his style, using many religious motifs and simplifying the sounds he used, creating what he himself calls "tintinnabuli (bell voice) style. He used many religious motifs and simplified the sounds he used, creating a unique style that he himself called the "tintinabuli (bell voice) style. This album includes works for orchestra and a series of choral works, including some rarely heard pieces. Dijkstra and Schirmer give dense performances of all the works. Also to be heard is the "Ritani," lovingly conducted by Viotti, who excels in vocal works. Naxos Japan
