“Old English Game are part of our heritage. Originally used for cockfighting, they provided sport for Kings and commoners. A Game cock is used as a symbol of valour and courage.
After cockfighting was abolished Poultry Shows were started, and Old English Game were kept for their beauty and interest. There also developed Old English Game bantams. Today the latter are the most popular of our bantams. They lay quite well and, at the same time, provide a challenge for the fancier trying to breed “perfect” birds.”
