Description:

The M2 IPS is an updated version of the laminated 3.0 inch IPS display for GBA SP, requiring no soldering to use all the features including the OSD menu.

Choose a model of kit according to the shell you want to use:

You can fit this screen to OEM original and clone shells selecting "For OEM original housing shell" option

You can fit this screen to a Funny Playing custom shell selecting "For custom Funnyplaying housing shell" option

All OSD function operations can be done via touch control, soldering is not required for these functions, an optional brightness wire can be fitted if required.

The panel exhibits a 99% coverage of the sRGB color gamut and achieves a maximum luminance of 500 cd/m².

The screen kit has power-off memory, holding the previous settings such as the brightness level.

At the lowest brightness, the kit power consumption is 0.27w

How the two kit options differ:

The screen kit itself is the same for both options, but the taps are adjusted according to the shell it is for, and a bracket is included in the customised shell option as it is needed for a Funnyplaying shell.

There are two options for this kit, a kit with folded metal taps for OEM original shells (inc clone shells) and a kit with flat taps and a bracket for use in the Funnyplaying customised IPS ready shell.

Kits are pre-configured for the shell you want to use to avoid the screen getting damaged.

Each kit includes the IPS LCD panel (with laminated screen lens), the driver ribbon cable, PCB driver board and hookup wire (optional install). Kits for Customised Funnyplaying shells also include a bracket.

*A single wire can be installed to control brightness from the original brightness button.

NOTE: Please bench test the kit before fully installing to ensure that there are no issues with the product, if you do find issues please contact our support team before proceeding further.

Other items needed which are not included: Basic screwdriver tools to fit the screen, optional soldering iron, non of these items are included.

You will need to have some patience and take care when installing this kit, it can be installed by beginners however there are quirks and challenges when working on a Game Boy, youtube offers a range of useful take apart videos that we recommend watching if your unsure about how to take the console apart.

Please note that the LCD screen and ribbon cable require care to install and are fragile in nature, ribbon cables can be ripped during install without proper care, the LCD are also more susceptible to damage once installed if the console is dropped, LCD screens can crack under pressure or with a impact, our warranty does not cover accidental / user damage of any components in this kit. Replacement parts will be available to purchase separately in the near future.
