Natural Sleeping Beauty: Turquoise is an opaque blue-to-green mineral, technically a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum. It is available in numerous shades of blue and green colors, depending on its origin. The rarest and most beautiful is the robin’s egg blue variety from the now-defunct Sleeping Beauty mine in Arizona. Turquoise is a staple of Native American jewelry and some of it is highly collectible and rare.
