Love this late 1950s day dress - the cut and styling is a casual version of the shirtwaist, but that plaid along with the gleaming buttons edges it into rockabilly for me. The bodice is fitted with darts - it features a fly-out collar. The plaid is tilted to diagonal for the long front placket that ends in a vee below the waist. Short sleeves are cuffed. The a-line skirt is softly pleated into the waist in front - in the back, the plaid is angled and beautifully matched at the center seam. There is a single inset pocket on the right side of the skirt

FABRIC/COLORS: Woven plaid, in a gorgeous blend of autumn colors. The most prominent color to my eye is the dark red. the weave blends brown, gray, and black into ombre effects, and a bit of soft yellow is textured to stand out physically above the rest of the plaid. The fabric itself is a light to medium weight cotton

CLOSURES: Five brass colored plastic buttons down the front, ending about 8" below the waist. The waist is secured with a large metal snap. The dress has self-fabric belt loops, but the belt is gone. I have shown the dress in some photos with a belt from my closet - it is not included with purchase.
CONDITION: No stains, holes, tears or other issues noted.
