The Gransfors Bruk Metal Axe Sharpening File is a straight, finely-cut steel file with a coarse side and a finer side, and features a small wooden handle. The handle is slightly wider near the file blade to give a good grip. The axe file is normally used with water but can also be used dry.

The Gransfors Bruk axe file is often used if an edge has larger notches which need to be ground down.

Gransfors Bruk offers three different sharpening products that are all relatively similar to each other: Ceramic Sharpening Stone, Diamond File, and Steel File. The main difference between these products is the material, but both the grit size and shape of the products differ as well. Choosing the right product comes down to individual opinion and taste.
