Description:
Born in London, England, composer William Wordsworth is the great-grandson of Christopher, the brother of "William Wordsworth (1770-1850)," who was a laureate poet in the 18th and 19th centuries. His works are in the style of Vaughan Williams and Sibelius, and he was a good influence on his contemporary, Rabbla. The two symphonies on this album, which span a 30-year gap in compositional date, show the evolution of his style, which became more and more sophisticated as time went by. The Scottish melodies that he pursued throughout his life are also used throughout the album, and the humor that lurks within the solemnity of the music is evident.
