Description:
César Franck (1822-1890) is best known for those stately symphonies and beautiful violin sonatas. The rest is a few organ pieces, "Food for Angels," and.... In other words, there are still many works that are not well-known. The piano pieces on this album were performed by the young Franck around 1843-1844 during his concert tours, and include many unexpected pieces. The dramatic plot of the "Ballade" and "Memories of Aix-la-Chapelle" are reminiscent of his later spiritual works, while the transcriptions of Schubert works are technical and brilliant, reminiscent of Liszt's works. The transcriptions of Schubert's works are technical and brilliant, reminiscent of Liszt's works, and show Frank's skill as a gifted pianist. In the "Fantasy on Two Polish Songs," the melody "The Moon has already set" and "Theme by Karol Krupiniski" from Chopin's "Fantasy on Polish Folk Songs" are used as they are, but the image of the music is quite different. This work clearly shows Frank's originality. Naxos Japan
