The Process

This DIY Leather Purse Kit is ideal for ALL - from total beginners to confident makers - you CAN make your own luxury leather purse at home.

This is a perfect introductory DIY Kit to start your journey into leather work and bag making and arrives complete with everything you need to get started.

Have fun learning the basics of leather craft (for accessories), with introduction to techniques including: application of wax and edge finishing, screw-in hardware, hand stitching on leather, and purse construction. Simply follow the included step-by-step instructions to craft your own leather purse. And, most importantly, enjoy the process. 

Inside your kit, you will find pre-cut leather pieces which require you to finish with a wax (included). You will finish the leather with a wax included in the pack and attach hardware to complete your purse. 

If you have a small flat head screwdriver, this will be helpful, although it is not essential. 

To make the kit suitable for home construction, some work has been done for you. Don’t worry though, there is still plenty left for you to turn your creative energy to. 

The Purse

The leather purse has a flap and Sam Browne stud closure. It is a raw edge construction to give a classic look and completed in a buttery soft vegetable-tanned leather which results in a supple but structured piece. 

The purse is unlined meaning you can enjoy the natural grain and quality of this beautiful Tuscan leather. 

The size ensures ample space for all your on-the-go essentials.

The dimensions of the purse are H 80mm x W 110mm x D 7mm, and it will be the same construction as the purse in the product photos.

There are NO ADDITIONAL COSTS. All tools, leather, hardware and products will be included in the kit. There is a selection of leather and hardware colours for you to choose from, and if you require a bespoke colour please get in touch as we may be able to help.

The kit contains:

1. Pre-cut and pre-punched leather pieces ready to use
2. A pot of homemade wax and a soft cloth
3. Metal hardware of your choice
4. Needle and black thread 
5. Unique 'Made by' card
6. Instruction booklet
7. Video link to instruction video
