Elgar (1857-1934)
Description:
Elpeth Wylie is a female pianist active as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist in the UK and elsewhere. This album is a collection of works by her and her colleagues by British composers active in the 20th century. Elgar's masterpiece "Enigma" is usually played by orchestra, but there is also a "piano arrangement" that Elgar herself recorded on piano rolls, and that version is performed here. In the other pieces, you can enjoy the intimate ensemble of the individual players. Naxos Japan
