King Crimson
Description:
The final album of the first Crimson period, with a mixture of beautiful songs like "Kagerou", stormy jazz-rock songs, and refracted pop world. Basic catalog version on SHM-CD with Steven Wilson stereo mix! This is the final album by the first Crimson band, which restarted with only Mel Collins remaining from the previous album, Ian Walrath on drums and Boz Burrell on bass who joined the band on vocals. The feud between Fripp and Pete Sinfield became apparent, and the mood of the work was unsettled, but it was a good time to release the ultimate ballad "Islands," which refined the hard beauty presented in the previous album "Lizard," "A Sailor's Tale," a powerful jazz rock song that is typical of Crimson after "Sun and Fear," and "Warrior's Tale," a song that develops amidst the unsettled mood. The album includes memorable songs such as "Letters," a psychological drama that unfolds in an unsettling mood, and "Ladies of the Road," an eccentric pop song that is unique among the early songs on the album. This is the first time since the original Crimson that the band has toured together, and the style of this album is very different from the previous album, which was constructed in the studio, and it is unique among all Crimson studio albums. During rehearsals for the second North American tour after the album's release, Fripp announced the band's dissolution, but management persuaded him to complete the scheduled dates, and a live album, "Earthbound," was produced from the tour between February and April 1972. This is the same master as the paper-jacket version that is currently on sale, and is now available in the basic catalog at a more affordable price in a placket version! Original 1971 master is a 2010 Steven Wilson Stereo Mix.King Crimson 1971-1972Robert Fripp: guitar, mellotron, Peters (Pete Cornish) pedals, harmonium, etc.Mel Collins: flute, bass flute, saxophone, vocalsBoz Burrell: bass guitar, lead vocals, choreography Ian Wallace: drums, percussion, vocalsPeter Sinfield: lyrics, sound & visionGuest MusiciansKeith Tippett: pianoPaulina Lucas: soprano (vocals)Robin Miller: oboeMark Challig: cornetHarry Miller: string bass Miller: string bass
