This lovely Peruvian vase originates from Písac, a Peruvian town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is situated on the Vilcanota River towards the South of the country. Pisac is most known for its Inca ruins and large market and is in the vicinity of Cusco .
The unique iconography used to decorate the vase stems from the Inca and tells of when to sow, when to harvest and when to shear the alpaca and llama. Known as tocapu, this pictorial alphabet comes from the Sacred Valley of the Inca Empire.
This vase stands approx. 19cm tall and 10cm wide (max). It is in excellent condition and has no cracks, scratches or signs of restoration.
