The year 2032 is the 300th anniversary of Haydn's birth. Let's record all Haydn's symphonies by this year! The project "HAYDN 2032" started in 2013. The recording started with Il Giardino armonico and Giovanni Antonini, but from the 5th collection, the Basel Chamber Orchestra has taken charge of the performance, allowing us to enjoy even more exciting Haydn. Included in the sixth collection are No. 26 "Lamentazione," which is also the title of the album, as well as No. 3, No. 30, and No. 79, a total of four pieces. No. 26, which uses the melody of Gregorian chant, is said to mark the beginning of the "Sturm und Drang" period, and is loved for its dramatic structure. Antonini's meticulous interpretation of the other three works is also well worth listening to. The sixth collection of Haydn's symphonies is a graceful selection of Haydn's symphonies, without coupling works by other composers or Haydn's vocal works, as in the past.
