Description:
Fretwork's latest recording! The second volume of "In Nomine" collection after 30 years of absence! Fretwork, the world's premier viol consort founded in 1986 by renowned viola da gamba players such as Asako Morikawa and Richard Boothby, finally released the second volume of "In Nomine" (Amon Ra / CDSAR 29), more than 30 years after its memorable first album "In Nomine" (1987). The second volume of the "In Nomine" collection is finally available, more than 30 years after Fretwork's memorable first release, "In Nomine" (Amon Ra / CDSAR 29). Volume 1 collected the complete consort music of Thomas Tallis, as well as "In Nomine" written for the Wiol Consort in 16th century England by Tye, Cornish, Baldwin, Bull, Byrd, Taverner, and others. This work complements the previous work by focusing on 16th century composers such as Parsons, Bull, Baldwin, Tye, and Ward, with the addition of one 17th century Purcell and two contemporary composers, Gavin Bryars from England and Nico Murie from America, to illustrate the timeless appeal of "In Nomine" and its development.
