An attractive and well-detailed antique sterling silver fob medal, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1904, with maker’s mark H.G.C, attributed to Horace George Croneen. The medal features pierced floral and scroll decoration surrounding a central enamelled cartouche depicting a tower, with blue enamel lettering reading “Tottenham Education Committee.”
The front is additionally engraved “Alfred Ribbons”, while the reverse bears a lengthy and highly specific inscription recognising perfect attendance over a three-year period, ending 31st July 1904. A particularly evocative Edwardian educational award with strong local and social history interest.
