Common Name: Anubias Nana Pinto
Anubias Nana Pinto is a striking example of artificial selection. This variety is human made and created after many generations. Plants with stunning white-green patterns were selected and propagated throughout the years to create the Anubias Nana Pinto we see today. These patterns are caused by the lack of green pigments, chlorophyll, in certain areas of the leaf. The patterns are unique to every leaf and of every plant, with no two being the same.
Compared to other Anubias species, Anubias Nana Pinto does grow slower. Higher intensity light is recommended to keep Anubias Nana Pinto healthy and white. It is very important to avoid burying the rhizome when planting, as this can cause the rhizome to melt and the plant to die. Anubias do best grown attached to hardscapes, such as driftwood or rocks, with glue or string.
