Description:
Wilhelm Friedemann Bach was born the eldest son of Johann Sebastian Bach the Great. Despite his father's love and musical education, he was said to be "the most gifted of all Bach's sons." However, because of his dreamy and licentious nature, he never served at the court except as church organist in Halle. He is known to have had a very difficult time in his later years. However, his remaining works are all unique and distinct from the style of the time, and the "Six Duets" for two flutes is a fascinating work with many innovative ideas, such as highly improvisatory melodies and bold harmonic progressions. The two flute parts in this work are treated as equals, with Ueno and Romain's flutes complementing each other's melodies to create a fantastic world. The powerful and beautiful tones and the performance created by the breathtaking interplay between the two flutes reveal a superb sense of taste and musicality. (C)RS
