Listen to Bruckner's piano music on "Bruckner's Piano"!Bruckner was appointed organist of the Linz Cathedral at Christmas time in 1855, and studied composition with Otto Kitzler, the conductor of the Linz Theater. Kitzler encouraged Bruckner not only to study and practice, but also to actually write completed works, the results of which are known as "Kitzler's Practice Book. This exercise book contains string quartets, orchestral pieces, and no small number of songs and piano pieces, including an orchestration of Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata. This album contains the piano pieces from the collection. The piano used is a Bösendorfer owned by Bruckner (a beautiful color photo is included in the booklet), the recording location is St. Florian Abbey, which is associated with Bruckner, and the pianist was born in St. Florian and graduated from the Bruckner Conservatory.
