Description:
A collection of piano pieces by Ferdinand Pfohl, one of Germany's leading "music critics". Ferdinand Pfohl contributed music reviews to the "Leipzig Royal Times" and the "Leipzig Daily News" and eventually became a music critic for the "Hamburg Gazette". His music criticism was highly regarded, and he was a favorite among music lovers of the time. His own works have a unique flavor, adopting the techniques of the late Romantic period but often using bold harmonies reminiscent of Impressionist works. He was also a great admirer of Grieg and composed the Nordic rhapsody "Hagwald" based on Grieg's melody. Naxos Japan
