Description:
Blissful electronic sounds echoing from "Planet Falorx," the latest album from "WARP's" electronic music originators, Prad! The long-awaited release of "Feorm Falorx," the eleventh album by WARP's electronic music originators, Prad, strikes a perfect balance between their signature playfulness and a pleasant sense of mystery. Compared to the dark atmosphere of their previous album, "Polymer," this album has a calmer overall sound, full of the beautiful melodies that have become synonymous with their music, while at the same time rhythmically developing a wide variety of sounds. Prad is a strong advocate of technology, and in "Feorm Falorx," he expresses a high-tech retro-futurism that is cutting-edge in sound, yet warm, human, and nostalgic. While they are still evolving, this album also traces their own musical background. From their earlier, more eccentric works to the present, they have embraced new synthesis methods and explored diverse musical styles, maintaining a thread that weaves from the early hip-hop of their youth to the sounds of the 60s and 70s that influenced them. It's not obvious at first listen, but listen closely and you'll find the unique groove of Prince's "Soft and Wet," Bob James' "Westchester Lady," and Jethro Tull's "Bouree," to name a few. As we approach the 30th anniversary of their contract with WARP, it's time to reflect on the impact that Prad, the unit of Ed Handley and Andy Turner, has had on the development of electronic music and the music scene as a whole.
