Calvin Keys
Description:
This is the second album by Black Jazz Records' signature guitarist, Calvin Keyes. This is a miraculous album with the highest level of groove, sometimes aggressive, sometimes mellow, and even freer, creating a superb blackness. No wonder Pat Metheny wrote the song "Calvin's Keys"! Calvin's Keys is a jazz guitarist born in Omaha, Nebraska, who has played on the albums of his Black Jazz Records labelmates, including Doug Kahn and Gene Russell. He is a highly acclaimed guitarist, as evidenced by the release of "Calvin's Keys" by Grammy award-winner Pat Metheny. His second album, "Proceed With Caution," released almost three years after his debut album "Shawn-Neeq," features a total of seven musicians, giving the band even more freedom.Starting with the title track "Proceed with Caution", which features Calvin Keyes' quintessential, comfortably intricate guitar that never stops playing, M3 "Efflugence" with its fast-paced rhythm, technical guitar and Brazilian comfort, M4 "Aunt Lovey" with its bluesy composition that invites dancing, and the moody final track "Night Cry", which is reminiscent of a jazz cafe, each of the six songs has a different color. Calvin Keyes' guitar prowess is on full display in each of the six songs, which all have different colors, from the dance-inducing M4 "Aunt Lovey" to the moody final track "Night Cry," which reminds one of a jazz cafe!
