The animated TV series is now available at a new, affordable price! An animated TV series based on the comic of the same title by the genius Go Nagai and Dynamic Productions. This work became the arrowhead for the Nagai Go Animation series, which was followed by "Mazinger Z", "Cutie Honey", and many others produced by Toei Animation. The screenplay was largely written by Masaki Tsuji, who admits to being a "big Go Nagai fan," and it featured speedy, bizarre action that strongly reflected the transformation boom that was underway at the time. Kazuo Komatsubara, who is also the main animation director, was in charge of character design. The heroic Devilman's appearance, which differs greatly from the original version, is depicted with a real sense of dynamism. The film is directed by Guji Katsumada, who was one of Toei Animation's most respected action directors at the time. Incidentally, this work, along with Toei's tokusatsu action program "Android Kikaider," was broadcast on-air as a program in NET's (now TV Asahi) Saturday night 8:00 p.m. slot "Majuu Monster Daihenshin! (currently TV Asahi) on Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m.Although it was an animated film, it was highly favored by children at the time as a "coveted transformation hero" alongside Masked Rider and Kikaider. The film is based on SD material, which was up-converted and converted to the latest HD format.
