Latin name - Lonicera sempervirens

 If you want to attract hummingbirds to your yard, Coral Honeysuckle is a must-have!  With trumpet-shaped red-orange flowers and dainty light-green foliage, this vine is a stunner in the landscape.  It’s best planted on a trellis or fence, flowering best in full sun.  Coral Honeysuckle vines are also a host plant for a couple of Florida native butterflies, the Spring Azure and Snowberry Clearwing.  This vine doesn’t climb by the use of tendrils like passionfruit, but rather it attaches to trellises by twining itself around them for support.  

Perfect for butterfly gardens, arbors, and for adding that pollinator attracting touch to your food forest, we love Coral Honeysuckle and highly recommend planting one.  They’re easy to grow, very drought tolerant, and great for attracting for bees, butterflies, predatory insects (those that eat garden pests) and birds, who are attracted to the bright red berries.
