Sleaford Mods
Description:
Sleaford Mods was formed in 2012 by English duo Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn. With their minimalist, ultra-boned sound stripped down to the extreme and vocals with their habitual East Midlands accents, these ultra-intense old farts sing nakedly about working-class British culture. They are featured on the song "Ibiza" from The Prodigy's album "The Day Is My Enemy" and have a strong presence in music videos. Their inspiration is always in the back alleys. Vocalist Jason Williamson said of the new album, "Andrew went into a random bar and found a menu board with the words 'English tapas' scrawled on it. Under that laughable phrase was a menu of half scotch eggs, chips, pickles, and mini pork pies. That says it all about this shitty bar, doesn't it? It's comedy, it's assorted, it's ignorant, it's, anyway, it's shit," he said, adding, "Think back to 2016. It couldn't have been any worse," he spat. They will be released on that 《Rough Trade》 label. The recording was done at Pulp bassist Steve McKee's studio. In addition, a documentary film, "Bunch of Kunst," which was filmed over a period of two years, will be released in the spring of this year, chronicling the Sleaford Mods' rise from a back alley pub band to an arena-class band. The new album "English Tapas" is finally available for purchase, as the band continues to go their own way with a passionate local following!
