Domaine Danjou-Banessy is located in the town of Espira de l'Agly, north of the city of Perpignan in the Pyrenees Orientales. Benoît Danjou and his brother Sébastien inherited from their grandfather this old vineyard which was used for the production of Rivesaltes. Today, they manage around fifteen hectares of parceled vines, aged 15 to 120 years. The vineyard is made up of a wide variety of soils, which requires plot work on different islets. Each cuvée produced represents a plot, a soil, a locality, a way of working. Benoît and Sébastien practice biodynamic techniques to enrich the soil and the vineyard is certified in organic farming. Benoit took over the vineyards in 2001, and was joined five years later by Sébastien, who had been working as an English teacher.

The brothers were also the first generation of the family to introduce still wines, dry white and reds made from old vines of local grapes, for example the rare Carignan Gris. They now produce 40,000 bottles a year.
