The ALW-CAT5EJ24 Lightning Protector provides superior lightning and surge protection for both indoor and outdoor 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks. Integral to the design is protection for the four Ethernet data pairs and the PoE DC power feed.

*This protector is also compatible with 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet networks, but it is recommended to be used on shorter length CAT6 cable runs for best performance.

The unit features a low capacitance diode array that can withstand large surge currents. The design utilizes a Thyristor diode which switches to a low impedance state once triggered. This offers superior power handling capability compared to TVS or Zener diode based designs. The limits are +/- 36 volts on the four cable pairs.

15 Volt and 24 Volt PoE Compatible

Designed to be compatible with 15V and 24V PoE devices, the ALW-CAT5EJ24 is ideal for use with select devices from Motorola, Ubiquiti, Engenius and Planet as well as other PoE equipment requiring 15V or 24V.

Note: This protector is not intended for use with standard 48V PoE devices.

Industrial Grade Weatherproof Enclosure

This protector features an industrial grade die cast aluminum enclosure with gasketed cover and concealed mounting holes. It includes an aluminum mounting kit and hardware. PG16 cable glands are provided on the enclosure as well as an external ground clamp to provide a tie point for earth ground. The PG16 cable glands are large enough to pass a un-boot RJ45 connector through so pre-terminated cables can be used.

For mounting to masts up to 2 inches in diameter, the HGX-PMT24 mast mounting kit is available (sold separately).
