Description:
The famous French conductor Charles Munch conducted the Symphonie fantastique in many parts of the world, as if it were his calling card. Four session recordings alone have been made since the SP era, and there are also several live broadcast recordings and video recordings. Of the two stereo recordings with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the 1962 recording made in April 1962, just before his retirement as Music Director, has been remixed and remastered from the original 3-track master for the first time in 21 years, and is being released as an SA-CD hybrid for the first time. The tight ensemble of the Boston Symphony responds to the slightest movement of the conductor's baton, the colorful woodwind tones, the brilliant brass roar, and the free, improvisational tempi, all of which showcase the orchestra's individuality and Munsch's unique expression, which could be called his signature. The "Harold in Italy" with the maestro Primrose and the Overtures, which maximize the individuality of the works, have also been newly remixed and remastered, and the master Lewis Leighton has created a super-duper living stereo sound that lets you savor the essence of the greatest conductor of the 20th century, Berlioz, who created an era. The new collection has been newly remixed and remastered by master musician Lewis Layton. ●Only in Japan ●Hybrid CD ●On Takumi label ●Remastered [Performed by] William Primrose (viola) [Harold of Italy], Boston Symphony Orchestra, Conductor: Charles Munch
