I am Kay, founder of So Buttery Skin. I built this brand in my kitchen after my daughter's eczema, but Mystic Oud is one of the scents I made purely for me. I wanted a body butter that felt like a candle lit room and a soft cashmere sweater, something grown and grounded. Five essential oils later, here it is.

What is inside

The base is whipped shea butter, mango butter, avocado oil, and jojoba oil. That is it. We add cedarwood, patchouli, sandalwood, frankincense, and a touch of vanilla for the scent. The shea is unrefined, the mango softens the heaviness of pure shea, the avocado feeds dry patches, and the jojoba helps everything absorb quickly without leaving a slick film. Eight ounces, plant based, made in small batches.

What it smells like

Warm, woody, expensive smelling, with vanilla rounding the edges. The body butter that earns compliments. It is built for date night, signature scent, the body butter you wear when you want to feel like the most interesting person in the room.

How to use it

After your shower, while your skin is still a little damp, scoop a small amount and warm it between your palms. Smooth it onto arms, legs, chest, and anywhere that runs dry. A small amount goes a long way. Use within twelve months of opening. Store at room temperature out of direct sun. Once your jar is low, grab a refill pouch to save on every reorder.

What does Mystic Oud smell like?

Warm and woody. Cedarwood and sandalwood do the grounding, patchouli and frankincense add depth, and vanilla softens it. It reads as luxury without being heavy or perfumey.

Can I wear this with my regular perfume?

Yes, and a lot of customers do. Oud notes layer beautifully under most warm or floral perfumes and they extend the wear of your fragrance.

Is this safe for eczema prone skin?

If you are in an active flare, start with our Eczema Relief Body Butter. Once skin is calm, this scent and our other gentle scents tend to work well. Patch test on the inside of your wrist first.

How long does an 8 ounce jar last?

With daily full body use, about six to eight weeks. With targeted spot use on hands, elbows, and dry patches, much longer.

Can I use this on my face?

We recommend our Face Collection for face. The body butter is rich and works best on the body and hands, where the skin is thicker.
