We love our new Lacey Loop Tee by Other Loops sample in the shop! Knit up in Trio DK in the color Lilla, it’s absolutely stunning. Though the pattern calls for a Fingering weight yarn, we knit ours out of DK. Our sample knitter started with Trio in the Fingering weight and determined that the fabric was too open and loose at the recommended gauge, and did not show off the lace to the best advantage. While this is not to say that you couldn’t get a gorgeous result with a fingering-weight yarn, like say, Elmer Fingering, for this particular yarn, the DK weight gave the best result. As always, we encourage you to swatch.

We suspect, and are in the process of knitting up a swatch, that Elmer Fingering would work very well at this gauge. Elmer’s ability to plump upon blocking thanks to its fiber content and woolen-spun nature might be just the thing to give this open, lacey fabric some structure. Elmer Fingering is also in this weekend's dyed-to-order!
