Textile piece, 24”x 28”
Lori makes a pattern and then cuts the upholstery vinyl with an Exacto blade. She usually starts with a silhouette of the primary figures to use as a base and shadows and then uses a temporary glue to secure the top pieces and sews them on with an industrial sewing machine.
This fun piece is a modern representation of The Fates from Greek mythology. The Fates were Clotho (Spinner), Lachesis (Allotter), and Atropos (Inflexible). Clotho spun the “thread” of human fate, Lachesis dispensed it, and Atropos cut the thread (thus determining the individual's moment of death).
