Discovered! Rare recordings of Harold Land, one of the most famous tenor saxophonists on the West Coast, from the 1960s! Recorded live at Seattle's "Penthouse" with Carmel Jones (tp), Hampton Hawes (p), Philly Joe Jones (ds)... and many more! Harold Land, who made his name in the mid-1950s as a member of the Clifford Brown - Max Roach Quintet, left the quintet early because he did not want to leave his home base of Los Angeles, and continued to play mainly in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Thus, he has recorded most of his leadership work on the West Coast. The Reel To Real label has released rare and previously unreleased recordings of Cannonball Adderley, Johnny Griffin - Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Etta Jones, etc. This new release is also from the West Coast, recorded at "The Penthouse" club in Seattle, Washington.
