Description:
Superlative! Amran re-recorded Alkan's "Concerto for Solo Piano"! Amran once again tackles the "Concerto for Solo Piano", which is considered one of the greatest and most difficult of Arkan's works! A virtuoso on a par with Chopin and Liszt, the French Romantic musician Alkan is regarded as one of the greatest composer-pianists in history. The main work on this album, "Concerto for Solo Piano," consists of three pieces from the eighth to the tenth movement of "12 Exercises in Minor Keys," and the first movement alone is approximately 30 minutes long. The first movement alone takes about 30 minutes, and the entire piece takes about 50 minutes, making it a work of extraordinary scale requiring superb technique. Amran has performed Alkan's works on many important occasions from the beginning of his career to the present, and his passion for this unknown master is so deep and burning hot that it is unbelievable. Marc-André Amrand, the world's greatest "super virtuoso pianist," has brought Alkan's works to the forefront, which had been forgotten because of the extraordinary technical skill required to perform them. Amrand is a super virtuoso pianist. Incidentally, Amrand previously recorded the "Concerto for Solo Piano" for Music & Arts, and this Hyperion release is a highly anticipated re-recording after a lapse of more than ten years.Amran, who has scaled up in all aspects since his last recording, confronts the limits of the piano's expressive power!
