KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET is an acoustic jazz unit launched in 2015 by Shuya Okino of the worldwide DJ and music producer unit Kyoto Jazz Massive. Their first new album in five years features Takeo Moriyama, one of the greatest jazz drummers in Japan. The two artists performed together for the first time as headliners at the Tokyo Crossover/Jazz Festival 2021 held on November 20, 2021 at Shinkiba ageHa@STUDIO COAST. They overwhelmed the audience with their spirited collaboration that transcended generations. The album includes Moriyama's signature repertoire, popular among club jazz listeners, as well as a new song, "Father Forest," written by Shuya Okino. The album also features a robust and dynamic sound made possible by all-analog recording. (C)RS
