Galuppi (1706-1785)
Description:
Baldassare Galuppi was an 18th century Italian composer. He collaborated with the dramatist Carlo Goldoni, and their numerous operatic buffa and religious works were successful. He also wrote more than 100 sonatas for keyboard during his lifetime, which are known to have revolutionized the sonata form and influenced Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. All of his pieces have clear and beautiful melodies and are well-loved by students because they are so effective in performance. In this album, Italian player Luigi Chiarizia performs sonatas for harpsichord and organ, including a world premiere recording. The listener can fully enjoy these unknown works written during the transition period from the Baroque to the Classical period. Naxos Japan
