This is our take on an 18th-century French escritoire, or secretary desk. The design is absolutely full of classical detailing from the tongue and groove back panel to the Victorian mouldings and iconic trumpet legs. With shelves above and two petite drawers, there’s ample storage to keep the surface free from clutter and is pretty enough to be used as a bedroom writing desk. Style tip: books don’t have to be stood vertically. Play with direction and place pocket-sized books in a small stack to use them as bookends.

• Classic White Finish - A full coverage, five layer semi-gloss painted finish sealed with a durable top coat. The texture of the Classic White gently defines the underlying material, on natural wood materials such as mahogany and may result in a lightly distressed effect. This luminous white is versatile enough to be featured on its own, or combined with components in either of the Black or Brown finishes from the Contrast and Accent Collections.

The Brand:

Provence is all about the details. Living, dining and bedroom furniture that is tastefully mixed with rattan to create an essence of coastal lifestyles, yet Provence retains the elegant features so as to blend in with the modern Australian home whilst giving it a French Country touch.

Every piece within the Provence collection has a classic silhouette which features a molded plinth at its base and flared cornice on top. The antiqued hardware are traditional shaped handles and hinges made from solid brass. And then there’s the period-style beveled edges and rounded legs all coming together to give this table its Provence country feel.

Style Tip:

Our Provence secretary desk features elegant profiling around the table top and easy to assemble solid wooden legs. Finished in all white with a light distressing along the edges, this table can be complimented with our Salsa or Morin Kubu Rattan chairs.
