The '66 ATCO release, with its pop and lighthearted song selection and singing, is back with a large number of single recordings added! Mary Wells, the diva of early Motown, continued to steadily release more and more albums after she left her old home, and this Atco 1966 album is proudly reissued. As the album title suggests, the A-side (M1-6) and B-side (M7-12) differ in style, allowing listeners to fully appreciate her wide range of artistic and performance possibilities. The first half of the album features fine songs that inherit and sublimate the traditional Motown sound, while the second half is a jazzy development with a lounge feel, and the song selection is also excellent.
