Frederick IX of Denmark, Royal Danish Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
Description:
The King of Denmark himself played the orchestral part of the concert. King Frederik IX of Denmark was a great lover of music. His relationship with music is unique in the history of the world, and no other monarch has conducted an orchestra and even made recordings while on the throne. In 2020, the current Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II, will turn 80 years old, and in honor of that, her father, the Queen's father, Freselik IX, will be honored as the new Queen of Denmark's "Queen of the World". In celebration of the 80th birthday of Queen Margrethe II in 2020, a new limited edition box set of historical recordings by her father, King Freselik IX, will be released. The Danish royal family has had a deep appreciation for the arts for generations, and Queen Mulgrethe herself has continued to paint. The recordings in this set include two previously released but no longer available albums, which have been remastered with newly discovered recordings.Recordings from 1942 to 1969 include works by Denmark's proudest composers, as well as pieces by Beethoven, Wagner, and Weber, and also document the deep bond between the monarch and the two orchestras.
