Produced by the Drappier house in the Côte des Bar region of Champagne, “Carte d’Or” is a non-vintage blend built around at least 80% Pinot Noir, making it lean toward a Blanc de Noirs style in feel.  Aromatically it shows ripe orchard and stone-fruit notes (think white peach and ripe apple), plus pastry, biscuit and spice undertones.  On the palate it is medium-to-full in body, with fine bubbles, brisk acidity and a chalky, lengthened finish.  In short: a richly expressive Champagne with structure, depth and elegance—great for a quality house pour without necessarily reaching ultra-premium price tiers.
