Small group counseling is an essential part of an MTSS comprehensive school counseling program. This middle school counseling group bundle includes 10 research-based, ready-to-use small groups, all of which are ASCA and CASEL aligned!

All of the included counseling groups are 6-8 weeks long and designed to keep middle school students engaged. Each group includes easy-to-implement outlines with objectives, engaging activities, and self-assessment data-tracking tools so you can measure student progress!

• Outlines: Easy to implement outlines with ASCA and CASEL-aligned objectives
• Group Rules: Suggested and DIY Group Rules poster so students can take ownership of the creation of the group rules and norms.
• Feelings Check: Feelings Check Poster to serve as a visual aid for students to self-reflect on their emotional state at the start of each session.
• Self-Assessments: Pre and post-group self-assessments to track student growth and make data collection easy!
• Engaging games and activities: I include everything you need to run each session. Simply print each week before the students arrive and you are ready to go.
• Journals: Self-reflective journals with prompts

BENEFITING STUDENTS

In my experience, small groups are the best way to connect with students. I love that they are able to learn from each other and build relationships as we cover each topic.

At a minimum, being in the counseling group allows students to identify and share their feelings, develop self-esteem through participation, and practice empathy while hearing others’ experiences.
