This is a collection of clarinet works by Weinberg, a Polish-born composer who has been gaining attention in recent years. Weinberg was familiar with the clarinet from his youth in klezmer bands and theater ensembles, which probably led him to write works for this instrument early in his career. The Clarinet Sonata, written in 1945, has long been known as one of Weinberg's best-known works, with its romantic, folkloric, and familiar ideas, while the Clarinet Concerto of 1970, though very similar to the Sonata in its opening melody, is even more focused on the virtuosity and virtuosity of the clarinet. The "Concerto for Clarinet" (1970) is a technical work that emphasizes the virtuosity of the clarinet. The passage in which the clarinet runs freely in all directions is impressive. The "Chamber Symphony No. 4," which Weinberg completed at the end of his life, begins with a beautiful string chorale, supported by clarinet obbligato in key passages. The second movement is a unique and ambitious work that can be considered the culmination of Weinberg's career, as the second movement is intense and expressive throughout, with the triangle appearing only four times in the final movement.
